Hi. In E22-02, around time 20:00 it bothered me that the ImportProductPricingXYZWholesaleQ was not updateable. The joins didn't look that complicated to me, I've had more complicated ones that were still updateable so I wanted to learn the root cause for this.

I found out it's because the UPCCode (as ProductID) in the ImportT was indexed but not unique. I set it unique and now the query is updateable.

Actually at first I changed the UPCCode also in the ProductT to be unique, but after some more experimenting found out that it is fine being non-unique. But the ImportT has to be unique.

I kinda understand why Access wouldn't allow it. If there were duplicates in the ImportT, how would it know which price to bring in exactly?

Then I thought maybe there's a reason it shouldn't be unique? But then.. wouldn't your DLookUp method fetch the price of the first matching code it encounters anyways, and ignore any duplicates so... the UPCCode kinda should be unique in the ImportT anyways, right?
