Hi, sorry for the silly question, but in regards to the helper tables, could we just use a self join table instead of innertable with two tables?

You can perhaps get it to work, but you're going to make things very complicated.
It is far easier to have a cascading combo boxes from two different tables.

Yeah, I agree with what Sami said. Possible, definitely, but you got to be very careful with your IDs.
