What if you have a field where you need to set the value as a string and want to use a combo box? For example: I have a field called AccountType. It either needs to be C for Checking or S for savings. Can a combo button be used to set these values?

You can use a combo box. When you add the combo box, a wizard will open. Select "Type in values I want", click next, type in the values, click next, and then pick the AccountType field.
