A big yes for the locally installed SQL server (don't forget Express for developers) video. Hmmm, could it be done before the big New Years sale? I hope it will cover most if not all of the mods a developer needs to make to a VBA heavy FE .accdb/e to work properly with the SQL BE.

I second or third or whatevere the new number is for a local installed SQL - Including Express (because thats what I downloaded).

I set up my local SQL Express server last weekend. It took about 60 minutes. I have set up several Linux servers, so maybe that is why I did not encounter any issues. Or perhaps the Microsoft Gods had the correct stars in alignment. In any case, I too would welcome insight on how best to use this with Access and the secrets only learned by experience.

Among a lot of other things, I'm curious what gets reported back to Access FE when a write fails to a server. Does the whole transaction system in Access function with a server?
