Menubars in Access 2010 or 13
Ken Martin

I made a Purchasing/Inventory Control database in Access 2003 that took about 5 years to make.

I would like to flip it over to Access 2010 or 2013 but the ribbon is really messing me up.

One question I have is how do yo make a custom menubar in Access 2010 or 2013?

The menubar is easier to work with than a switchboard.
I have two menubars, one for the administrator and one for the end user.
If you log on as an admins you get the admins toolbar, if you logon as a regular end user you get the regular end user menubar.
The admins toolbar of course has the admins functions on it.

I can't seem to find anything on this on the internet.

What problems are you having with the Ribbon?

Could you just build Forms with permissions instead?

I'll be honest, I've covered customizing the ribbon in those two lessons that Alex pointed you to, but it's a lot of work. I honestly prefer just making my own buttons on forms to do most of the work, and the only thing that I bother customizing is maybe the quick access toolbar.

It's a bummer that they got rid of custom toolbars.
