Lisa That looks really nice, and I'm glad you shared it. I don't hate tab controls 100%. They absolutely have a place, especially for beginners. They're a great way to break a large form into logical sections without having to think about subforms, dynamic loading, or more advanced VBA. From a usability standpoint, they can look clean and organized, and for many applications they work just fine.

Where my criticism comes in is mostly at the more advanced end. Once you start doing heavier programming, I've personally found it easier and more flexible to use a subform and swap out the form inside it. It tends to behave more predictably in code, and you get finer control over what's loaded and when. Tab controls can also be a little quirky at times, at least in my experience. A lot of my bias comes from when they first came out years ago and were pretty buggy, which definitely left a bad taste that stuck with me.

So really, it's not that tab controls are bad, it's more about choosing the right tool for the job. For many databases, especially simpler ones, they're a perfectly valid and even elegant solution.
