Beginner Level 1 Takes the Most Work!
Richard Rost

I've been preparing this class for what feels like forever. It's reminded me how much work goes into a Beginner Level 1 class, because you have to make sure everything is correct, make sure you don't lose beginners, and make sure everything is in its proper place.

Putting together PowerPoint slides and recording the intro material (what's covered in class, the goals, what students can expect, etc.) is way more time-consuming than just sitting down with a screenshot and recording myself working in Access. That intro stuff takes a lot longer to produce, so the progress has been slow, but I'm having fun with it.

Now that I've got the meat and potatoes of what I'm going to cover pretty much done, I've got to put the bookends on it: record the introduction and record the closing.

Sloooow work... but satisfying! :)

I tell you, man, Beginner Level 1, Lesson 1 always takes the longest.

It was a full day of putting the slides together, writing everything out, and having GPT generate the images. Then it took another full day to record, even though the final video is only about 20 minutes long. I always say perfection is the enemy of done, but it's different with a scripted Beginner lesson. Those slides have to be done right.

Still, that's a few solid days of work right there, and now that this one is done, the rest of the lessons should roll off the tongue a lot faster.

Hope you enjoy!

Way to rev up our minds, and get us salivating. Cannot wait for lesson 2
