Access Introduction
Monica Jones

I was in HS, so 92-96. and I had built a list in Excel of all my books. My mom noticed and told me about a program she had started using at work, called Access. :) I had never programed and had no clue what I was doing, it was just a list in a different app. lol

In college I ended up taking some C++ classes from a "professor" who taught through lecture and PowerPoint. It went worse than you might expect. Setting aside the first homework that was to find the error and compile, no piece of code he gave us compiled out of the box, EVER. And after four semesters of this (I needed the two classes, and he was the only one who "taught" it) I was convinced I couldn't code to save my life.

Fast-forward to my current job, started in '08. Our department had Access databases with buttons on forms that did things! :-O Slowly, I started adding labels with just one little line of docmd.open.... a form or a query. No “real” coding. Eventually I found Richard on YouTube and my skills and confidence have skyrocketed!

So, a huge and heartfelt thank you for all you do Richard!
