Access Introduction
Bruce Phillips

My first computer was in a job shop. It was a 286 IBM Clone; with a 20 meg HD. Digital storage was a premium. I began by using sequential text files. I used Batch files to relate the data from the text files.
By 1988 I learned GW-Basic, then migrated to Visual Basic 3, so much more power, but still with underlying sequential text files. So much coding to manage and modify the environment and programs for changes.
Fast Forward to 2019 where the company was acquired and I had to reprogram to accommodate and track jobs processed in both locations on a moment’s notice. Here is where Access really came to my rescue. I enjoyed working with Visual Basic back in the day when I had the time. At first my program was sans VBA. I found Access Learning in 2023. I learned then and there the power and flexibility that I had been missing.
