I created two “many to many” tables that links teachers to courses (TeacherCourseT) and students to courses (StudentCourseT).

The problem is with the list of students. Using a combo box adds the student to the list. Clicking the combo box in the list updates the record in the table. The student is no longer on the list.

Is there a way to lookup the student in a combo box and store that value in a new record in the student list on a continuous form without modifying the table.

Have you looked at Richard's Students & Parents, Students & Grades, or Attendance video sets?

Students and Parents features kind of what you are trying to do, except instead of student and course, it is student and parents.

Without knowing how your tables are set up, can't really help you any more succinctly. I would normally have a StudentT, a TeacherT, and a CourseT to start. Then a two Junction tables: TeacherCourseT and StudentCourseT that just contain the course id and then applicable student or teacher id. When you select a student from a combo box, it would add the appropriate junction table entry without affecting the StudentT records.
