TechHelp Video Release Schedule

Good afternoon All! This space has been a wonderful learning experience for me over the last five years or so. I have gone from no programming knowledge to someone who knows enough to be dangerous!  I have watched many of the lessons and still review the ones I have purchased from time to time but where I learned the most was from the TechHelp videos and the extended cuts. I became a member because I wanted to get the “good stuff” from the extended cuts and man I learned a ton. Thank you for the learning platform you have created.

I know you are going a different direction now and I completely understand but I sure miss the consistent TechHelp videos and the extended cuts. I checked your site daily just to see what you presented.

I will always be a member of this community because there are so many wonderful people who share their knowledge freely and without judgement and for a novice I can’t tell you how much that increased my learning!

Thanks Richard for building this site and creating the culture here! It is because of you that I have learned as much as I have and for that I am grateful!!

Continued success sir! And I will continue to check in everyday in anticipation of seeing a new TechHelp video!

Thank you for the kind words, Brent.

I don't want anyone to think I'm not going to continue releasing the TechHelp videos. I certainly am. My goal moving forward is to release at least one good Extended Cut every week. In fact, I'm working on one right now that will probably be released tomorrow.

The individual daily TechHelp videos are just so time-consuming to produce that they haven't left me much time to make anything else. I've got lots of other stuff I want to produce, including more Access Developer lessons and the SQL Server course I've been working on. I'm stretched in too many directions, so I had to make the decision to scale back on TechHelp a little.

That's one reason I've been producing the video quizzes. They're quick, short 10-minute productions, so I can still have something going out every day. I've got lots more coming down the pipe. I just need time to put it all together.

As soon as they add that 25th hour to the day, I'll certainly be happy. :) I hope you don't go away, though. Stick around for the TechHelp stuff, and keep learning enough to become more and more dangerous. Lol.

Not going anywhere sir!  Love this community!! I know I am not your target audience too! I am not a developer and don’t want to be. I just want to be more productive and efficient in my current role, which you have helped me to accomplish. And I love learning!  Just that factor alone, makes me better at what I do. It sets off my creative side. I really look at this as an art form! When I create something and the query, form or report populate the way I envisioned, it is a rush!

So, you are stuck with me! With or without Tech Help videos.

That's exactly the kind of student I love having around here, Brent. You don't have to become a professional developer to get tremendous value out of Access. If it helps you do your job better, saves time, solves problems, and gives you that little rush when everything works the way you pictured it, then you're doing it right.

And yes, there absolutely is an art to building a good database. Anyone can throw fields onto a form, but making something that is useful, intuitive, and does what you want it to do takes creativity. Keep being dangerous.
