Why Access Won

You made a good effort to respond to that video, but these are often just fly-by-night YouTubers going after views.  Indeed, that video is now the most viewed on that channel.  And it's mainly because of that click-bait thumbnail.  If it were a serious piece of journalism about the subject, I would be more interested.  But these people often say whatever they want with no obligation to be factual and accurate.  They may be right about certain things, but often in a broken-clock-is-right-at-least-twice-a-day kind of way.  Doing a piece that is cogent, factual, intelligent, fair, and comprehensive requires a lot more resources than what a single person looking up wikis on his phone can do.  In the old days of journalism, there was often a body of people watching over what reporters and writers did to make sure journalistic integrity was maintained.  Nowadays, there is no such "gatekeeper," which makes everything more "democratized," but also allows anyone to say whatever they want.

Yep, that's pretty much how I felt about it too. The actual video wasn't nearly as bad as that thumbnail made it look, but calling Access "the worst database" was clearly meant to get clicks. And apparently it worked.

I almost didn't want to link to it for exactly that reason, but if I'm going to comment on someone else's video, I feel like people should be able to watch the original and decide for themselves. Somebody has to defend our redheaded stepchild, right? LOL.
