Why do you store the Relative ID in the table instead of the Relative name? I have watched your videos on Combo boxes. You stored the state names in the customer table and not an ID. I understand there are only 50 states, but there are also only so many relative names as well, so I was thinking that cannot be the reason you use the ID instead of the actual name.
Reply from Richard Rost:
As a rule of thumb, it is better to store IDs in a table as a foreign key instead of names. Why? That could take me 20 minutes to explain, and I'm pretty sure I covered it thoroughly in Expert 1.
