I have StartTime and EndTime fields in my table with Medium Date format and have concatenated them in a query to LessonTime:

[StartTime] & "-" & [EndTime]

with the following result -

1:30:00 PM-2:30:00 PM

I need it to display as -

1:30-2:30

in a report. I know I can format to hh:mm, but is there any way to get a short version like this without getting 24hr time? I had tried to format the fields as text, but when the field is sorted I get 1:30 appearing before 8:30 so that didnt work.[Im working with school times - 9:00-3:00, so there are no 1:00AM or 8:30PM times.]
