Check Register Form

In my check register all my entries appear when I open the checkRegF form up, I have to scroll down to the bottom to write out a new entry.  When I attempt to choose a vendor the error message come up saying
Run Time error 3075
I hit the END button and I go up to the top of the form and choose my checking account and the message comes up saying  This will change your accounts  I have to choose YES to continue and that puts me back at the top on my entries  and I must scroll down all my entries to make a new entry. Is there any way first to get around these messages and any way to just show my uncleared entries when I open the CheckRegF form???
Is there any way not to show all the transaction when you open the CheckRegF.

(1) Does this happen in the STOCK database, downloaded from my site? If so, then I'll look into it. (2) If the answer to 1 is NO, did you run down the Troubleshooter? Runtime 3075 is the "Invalid Operator" error which means there's a bug in your code.

I just tried to recreate the error messages, and I'm not able to. This seminar was released 5 months ago. Hundreds of people have used it, and as you can see from the message board here, nobody else is having this issue. It must be something on your PC. Try running the database on another machine.

You can sort the transactions any way you want. Right-click, sort. I cover this in my Access Beginner 1 class. There's also the Sort A/Z button we added in the class. To add a new item, you don't have to scroll all the way down. Just click on the ADD NEW RECORD button in the navigation buttons (again, Access Beginner 1).

As far as opening up the check register form and not seeing all of your previous transactions, it would certainly be possible to create an option to open the form in data entry mode. That's a form property. I would perhaps make a checkbox on the menu form that says "data entry only" and then open the form accordingly.

If there is enough interest, I'll add this as a topic for a future upgrade.

I have given up on your check register seminar. I will not be purchasing any more classes youre your company. I ask the simple question if this was the proper database the one with a %5 million balance. Instead of getting a yes or no answer you go into how you have never had anyone else with my questions. I also did not care for the comments made in Addendums 1. Currency to English (4:53) - Getting the CurrencyToEnglish function to work in a different data. I done all that I can and will have to recommend that people go elsewhere for training. I have followed your instruction but everything I attempt to add I get the same message error of 3075 Hope you had a good laugh on my expense.

Yes I have had the same run time error.  Ran down the troubleshooter no error since.

Tim, I do not understand your hostility. Both Alex and I have gone above and beyond answering your questions and trying to help you. I even went out of my way to make that Addendum video to show you (a self-admitted NON developer - your words) how to use the Currency to English function in a different database after you asked. You did NOT ask me if that was the right database (the one with the $5 million check in it - which it is). You said you were getting an error 3075. I then explained WHAT that error meant, and I simply said that HUNDREDS (literally hundreds) of other people have downloaded that database without experiencing that problem, so it's likely something on your machine. What comments did you not care for? Me helping you, or me mentioning in the video that you're not a developer. You SAID you weren't a developer. I was doing my best to assist you.

And since you're recommending that people "go elsewhere" for training, which is certainly your prerogative, then you're no longer welcome here. I will be refunding the remaining balance of your Silver membership. Be sure to tell those people that I did everything I could to help you, and that you were blaming me for problems that I didn't cause. Good day, sir.

For the record, I might have assisted you further in trying to nail down that error message to help you find the problem, IF YOU WERE POLITE. But you were not. So... good luck with it.

Eugenia, yes that error can pop up randomly in ANY database. I've had it pop up several times on me. It's usually caused by a compile error in the code. Sometimes all you have to do is go to Debug > Compile Database and it fixes itself, which is mentioned in the Troubleshooter, which I would have suggested to Tim, if he was nice.
