Hi, I'd like to learn how to assign serial numbers to specific orders. In our company, inventory can have 3 statuses: Open (available); Allocated (assigned to an order); and Complete (shipped/no longer in inventory).

When we get a new order, I want to select a *Product from a combobox and see a list of open inventory, then select a specific serial number to add to the order. Once the serial number has been added to the order, I would like the status to change to allocated, so it cannot be chosen again for any new orders. Occasionally we need to remove inventory from an order or swap inventory used for specific orders too.  

*There is another item that may complicate matters.  We have Projects that contain Products, and it is the Products that have serial numbers, so ideally the process would be to select the Project from the combobox, and that selection limits the open serial numbers only to the Products that are used with that specific Project.

Hope that's not confusing. Richard has some courses that come close to what I need, but I'm not knowledgeable enough to customize them myself to our needs.
