Wow did not finish my comment, sorry about that.
Everything workes, now Im trying to open the browser in the file location.  I cant use your ABCD data base as a guide ABCD it is so complex.  I will continue trying and may even get it to work trial n error.  I like to ask that in D33 if you can add a short video of how to view the file in brows mode using a subform like ABCD.  You gave me leggo, Im working with them, but thinking I am missing a piece.  LOL  
Thinking ...ABCD works so good due to builing it and all depends on the part before.  but if you try to build it and only wish for the document managment part its difficult to carv that out and just use that.  Whats your thought?

What exactly are you trying to do? "View the file in browse mode using a subform?" How is that any different from a single form? The button should work the same either way. With a continuous form, the value of the field containing the filename is just whatever the current record is. Help me understand what you need.

Awsome Richard thanks you nailed it I did a msgbox and was not getting the value.  Now it works fine.  Chalk this one up to a senior moment.  LOL  you found my missing leggo piece.  Thanks for putting up with me
