Weather underground from what I've found to get an ID you must own a weather station to get an API code and submit to them. I could find nowhere on the site to download the information

Yeah this course was released 7 years ago from what I see. It was accurate at the time of release. Unfortunately if a company makes changes to their model it could break your code.
The lesson is still good from the standpoint of HOW to do it. The task now is just finding a resource that allows the interaction that they used to provide.
I seem to recall that Weather Underground changed some things to part of their subscription service. That may be one of them. Can't blame them - they are a business and have to pay the bills too.
