Hide Control

Hi Richard. I have a single form which can be opened from 2 different forms currently. One method is to open it through a customer record single form which is directly linked and therefore shows that customer's record. The second method is by way of a button on a menu form that loads the form and it's then possible to navigate through the records one by one. I have my own navigation buttons on the form and I would like to hide them if the form is being opened to a specific customer as I don't want users trying to navigate to the next record. The simple way is to load 2 versions of the same form and take the navigations buttons off one but I wouldn't learn anything by doing it that way. Can you help please...

buttonname.visable = false/true
just need to figure out where you are calling from and set your value when you open it
I am thinking 2 function calling same form,  or just keep visable off unless you use button on menu and you open the form set to true
1001 way to do this it up to you.

Don,

It is rarely a good idea to have 2 versions of the same form. You'll be giving yourself twice the workload having to maintain both versions with a greater possibility of mistakes creeping in.

Juan and Kevin are both correct. It's easy to show/hide controls. Just say:

MyButton.Visible = false

It's just all about how and when you want to set that. In the calling button? In the form's Open event? There's a lot of different ways to do it. I see you're just in the Expert courses. Hang in there. When we get to the Developer lessons and a little VBA, you'll see more stuff like this. Plus I show how to really lock down your database in the Security Seminar.
