I have an access database front end with a sequel server back end. I am trying to encrypt a logon password. What I have done is I created a table in sequel server called people. In this people table user IDs and passwords are contained. What I'm trying to do is encrypt the password column which I did using SQL Server symmetric encryption. Problem is I don't know how to get access to work with that field considering it is a varvinary field.  Currently I made a forum where I at at some VBA code to the log on command button. But everything is sent in clear text, I'm trying to encrypt that so prying eyes don't see something they shouldn't. Problem is is every time I point the code to the encrypted password column, access doesn't understand it. Any help would be great, thank you all for looking.
