Form SubForm
Teri Bridges

I have created a form which has my contact information I have related to my task assignments in a sub form. The information populates as expected. I have one issue I am wondering if I can resolve.
I select the contact, from my go to field and the record loads. Everything is correct. In the sub form I have a button to create a new record. When I click the button it takes me to a new record which is good but the contact ID field is blank. I would like the contact ID field to still be populated (Synced) with main form Contact ID.

Try these videos, Default Value and Value From a Form

Basically set the default value of that field to the main forms contactID

Teri -

If you haven't already, go watch the Invoicing video.

I know this isn't directly related to what I'm seeing on your forms above (I don't think) but the concepts are similar.
Parent form dealing with related records in a SubForm.

Starting at about 20 Min into the extended cut Richard shows some of the finer details of working through issues that come up.

Richard quite often says, "I provide you the Lego pieces - It is up to you, as the developer, to decide how to put them together."

This couldn't be more true here.  Slightly different application but same concept.
