Printers in Cloud

I tried this solution back last year in July of 2021 and got frustrated and at the time I was not aware of access learning zone (thank the star trek gods I found you a while back!). Anywhoo... the major hiccup was my printers keep changing for the three users that would load up each session. I gave up, and re focused my attention on other options like SharePoint list. Circling back to this solution about a week before you posted your solution to use  Access Database Cloud, I went to another hosting service suggested in Experts Exchange. "Apps4Rent" the solution was exactly the same as your video (glad I was on the right path again). The printer problem showed its ugly head again, my solution, which is not elegant at all was to make a new front ended for each type of printer redirect and just have the user close the FE and begin using the new FE that would use the redirected printer. I know there has to be a much better way, so on my searching I found I could retrieve a list or printers

Now that I have the list of printers, how do I used the new found information to keep the labels (which is the major problem) to stay on the Device name: DYMO LabelWriter 450 Twin Turbo. The variable is Device name: DYMO LabelWriter 450 Twin Turbo (redirected 2), or Device name: DYMO LabelWriter 450 Twin Turbo (redirected 3), Device name: DYMO LabelWriter 450 Twin Turbo (redirected 4), and it just keeps changing. how do I help the user push the label to the correct redirected printer?  I was thinking something in VBA that would a MSGBox that would verify the printers, then ask the user which redirected printer and then hard code the report to the DYMO labelwriter , however I could be making this harder than it has to be.

If you save a report as using a specific printer, it should keep that setting in its design. If the printers move or change, you might lose the link and it will go back to default printer. Let me pass this one by Joe Richardson from Access Desktop Cloud and see what he says.

There are two methods you can use to connect to your Access Database Cloud virtual desktop and each treats printng diffently.  The default and simplest way to connect is using a browser.  When printing from your cloud desktop from inside your browser you should select "Cloud PDF" as the printer and your report or labels will be send to a new tab in your browser as a pdf file.  From that tab you can then print to any of your own printers, save or download. The other connection method is to use our Window App (see link below) which creates an RDP connecton to connect to your cloud destop.  When printing from your cloud desktop thourgh our Windwos App you will see all your connected printers listed and can directly print to any of them.  The app is a little more complicated to use than a browser connection but if you need to print using specific printers and maintian your specific layout then using the App is the way to go.
