Combo Box Problem WLZ Invoice

Hello, I was studying the Learning Zone Invoicing Video and all seems fine except for making the Combo Box in the first third part of the course. Both forms that I created appear to work just fine as they do in the Video. I combined the slave subform into the Master form and as expected only the first record appears. As per the course I made a Combo Box to control and select other records on the slave form, the Combo Box displays all customers properly, but will not access the slave form when I click on a customer to select a record. I have reviewed this video several times and can't find anything wrong. In PROPERTIES: the Source Object =OrderDetailF, The Link Master= OrderID and the Link Child=OrderID. Has anyone else run into this problem, or have any idea as to what my problem might be? Thank you all in advance for your help

Horace are you saying you can't enter anything into the SubForm? (not slave by the way) Or are you saying that when you leave and come back that the data is gone? Check your tables. Is the data there after you enter an OrderItem? Might help to post a Screenshot if you can to help describe what you are seeing / what is happening.

Hello Scott and thanks for the response. I was studying Richards Learning Zone "INVOICING" video as a supplement to my course. This is what is happening. I followed the video and created the two tables the master and yes a subform, (I'm learning that software jargon is different than electronics jargon). Both of the forms worked properly when separated as in the video. I put the subform inside of the Main or master form and then per the video created a COMBO BOX to select records in the subform as I click on them in the COMBO BOX customer list. Nothing happens in the subform, it just sits there on the first record and there is no response to go to the record selected in my COMBO BOX. I clicked on the subform and checked the DATA control. It is set up correctly according to the video. The Source Object: = OrderDetailF, the Link Master Field=OrderID, and Link Child= OrderID. I'm learning relationships, but finding that I don't know much, do you have any Ideas what I to look fo

I think you've missed a part.  If you go back to the 1st video starting at about 52:30 you will see how to open the orders to the customer from the form.  Later on Richard shows how to open the orders from the OrderList Form.

The great thing about having the videos is that you can go back and watch them multiple times.
We recommended that you watch all the way through once. Not trying to do anything. Then watch again while building the db Richard is building. Starting and stopping as necessary or even backing up if you need to.

I suggest watching full screen the first time at least.  Some times you can miss the little things - clicks here or typing there - that you might otherwise miss on a smaller screen.

I see that you don't currently have a TechHelp membership.  I really suggest that you consider that.  The extended cuts cover a lot of materials that you don't get in the free videos.  Especially this one.  You can fin out more here: JOIN
