Man! I could have used Lesson 1 months ago, since I've inherited a hot mess of many fields with different phone number formats. This will definitely come in handy. In my personnel database I have many foreign phone numbers, but they're not the majority. So, I have the traditional input mask for 10 digit numbers in place. But it's quite a pain each time I have to enter a foreign phone number with a country code, city code, etc. To do so, I have to go into design mode, remove the mask, save the table's new design, then add the foreign phone numbers, and finally reapply the original 10-digit mask, and save the design again. Question: Is there a way to create an exception mask for foreign phone numbers that begin with the country code (+xx xxx-xxx-xxxx)? Perhaps even an automated code for specific countries b/c Germany's phone number format is different than those in the United Kingdom. Thanks in advance, Kent Jamison

You could just add a button that removes the input mask on the field. Or yea, you could use a if statement to determine what the mask should be for each situation in the before update event.
