This feature should be built-in, IMO, since there are built-in design choices for command buttons, text boxes, and other controls. ASP/HTML/CSS web forms also don't have built-in checkbox designs. I saw one CSS example where a box was drawn, then two of its sides were removed to make an inverted L shape, then the L was rotated 45 degrees to look like a check mark. That's so cumbersome, not to mention stupid. All these platforms should just offer built-in checkbox designs since it's probably one of the most-used controls on forms. Shouldn't be that hard to do.
I agree for the most part. You have to draw a line between functionality and feature bloat... but yeah, they should at least let you resize the little visible part of the checkbox and change its background color.
