Job Prospects Making Databases

Hello Richard,

I am new to creating databases but find it fascinating to learn and believe that I would be very good at doing it. What are the prospects of finding a side job creating databases for other people. I already have a full time job but am interested in doing this as well. What would you recommend if one wanted to do this as a freelancer? I live in Canada and would consider a site like fiverr or upwork to look for these side jobs.

I have played around with databases and actually designed one for the local law enforcement on my island. Unfortunately the database never got to full use, as the Police Sergeant left the island and the IT Officers did not support me as they did not understand what I was doing. I then found that I would forever be the consultant and the go to if anything is wrong or if there are bugs. Yes always back what you make, so I would have no other choice to be around to fix problems. That scared me a bit and I let it go. After doing these courses to Developer level, I know now I should have followed it to full commission.

I am coming up to the pointy end of life and have a few more years before retirement, but the scary thing is time flies. I am still learning and love every lesson and love it when I can say yep I figured that one out myself.
