Dim X as string

Can I use Dim X as String on multiple buttons on one form, or does each button require a separate character?  I've watched lots of videos, but have not found one yet that answers this question.

As long as it's a private sub you can use it on different buttons. Just not inside the same function/sub. Public subs i would also change the dim letter, although im not sure if it will let you or not, sounds like trouble lol

Just to add to Adams comment:
The life,  or persistence,  of a variable depends on the Scope of a procedure.

Variables

Scoping of variables is introduced in Developer Level 4
