Open Files in Access

I have a folder on my hard drive C:\documents\Customer Estimates then within that each customer has a folder C:\ documents\Customer Estimates\E10259 James Kirk which is the estimate number and customer name then within that there are folders for received emails sent emails survey documents and text messages I have followed the class which adds a button to pick the file and put it in the database but the files are in different locations depending whether it's an email, text message ect  and which customer it is. Would there be a way to code a button to open the file which ever location its in and if so do you cover that in any lesson I can purchase or am I wanting something that's not possible. I did buy developer 33 and 34 at the weekend but I don't think that covers what I want to do

Carl unfortunately there isn't "one specific course" that will get you what you need.  The info is here, but it is spread out over many courses.  The two you just bought are good but you're correct  - only partially gets you what you need.

Access Developer 31 covers navigating and working with files and folders.
Access Developer 39 working with different documents by customer and indexing them.

The best bet for you, right now, is probably the Access Imaging Seminar.  In that Richard shows how to browse for a picture and copy it up to the server. The name Imaging Seminar is some what confusing because it can apply to other file types as well.

Head over to the Microsoft Access Outlines and do some searching.

Search for (CTRL-F) :
Copy File, filecopy, make folder, etc.

Hi Scott thanks very much for the information I purchased developer 31 as you suggested and I think it gives me enough to make what I'm trying to do work.
Regards
Carl

Am I going nuts
