Just reading your question has many integrated parts.  I recommend the WO seminar  If you are looking for something simpler try the invoice developer courses.  Developer 22 on through https://599cd.com/blog/display-article.asp?ID=1191 will do product grouping.  Look at the free video for invoicing to see if this will interest you. it's about an hour long and free by far one of the best videos in my mind.

Happy New Year! I have watched all of the above, but I went ahead and re-watched a few videos. I realize what Richard did by setting the ProductGroupPrice equal to the sum of the parts and then setting that equal to UnitPrice through a recordset. When the order is created the Product Group prices are saved in the Order as a product essentially. I can and have done the same, however I was trying to see if the individual parts and their prices could be carried through perhaps in another table with a foreign key that relates it to my BidT. That way I can get Material details and the historical pricing broken out on the Bid if I need to. After speaking with my colleagues, this is a rare thing to need and this would be more work than it's worth.

I still would be interested to hear your thoughts.

Howdy and thanks for reaching out again.  Historical record are good in the case of pulling up an old invoice there are several times i find myself looking at an old order such as one persone wishes to buy the same but a year later. in which case I have a function that just copys the info to a new order and refrshes the price.  But what you may be looking for is to pull up and old order and compare to the new order with can be done.  I use historical records in recuring contracts its much work trying to create a wheel everytime when I can pull up an old estimate and tack on 3% hold up in 2022 I havd to do 8%  (LOL) .  One more case I order cement every year, this is due to the snow removal crew smashing my curbs.  I look up 3 to 5 years of historical data see how the price has increased and do a WAG on what it will cost me.  this allows me to forcast a budget which my leadership need to buy in on.  hope this helps and do keep asking questions the only way to learn is if you try.  As I say can't hit the ball if you don't swing the bat.
