I have around 900 files for patient I will scan this files to one folder in the  computer I want MS access to linked each file by file number I can renamed  all the files  like that

Pdf file 111 - Pdf file Patient Name ( Rami. Kanawati)
Pdf file 112 - Pdf file Patient Name ( John. Smith )

Etc.

I don't want this files to store in MS access dB the files should be in computer with separate folder

I know you will tell me to linked one by one but if there is better way please advised

Note if there any other best way to do that it will be Helpful

Let me make sure I understand what you're doing... you have 900 PDF files all scanned in a folder. You want to associate those with records in your database by storing the filename of the PDF file with a patient's record so you can easily click to open the right one. Correct? If that's the case HOW are you distinguishing the PDF files? Is it just the patient's name in the filename of the PDF? If that's the case, are they all unique? It would be possible to write some VBA to loop through the files in that folder and try to figure out which patient each file belongs to based on the filename, but the names would have to be EXACT. This is also going to involve you knowing how to program VBA and know how to loop a DIR statement, and then use an SQL statement or Recordset to store the filename. Lots of stuff here. Is it possible? Sure. You're definitely going to need a lot of various Developer lessons to get there though. If you want to try to find someone to build this for you, check out the Developer Network.

Yeah, but the ABCD doesn't match up people based on filenames. If you want to match up the documents manually, sure. I guess I could build an add on to attach the documents based on something in the filename... But that's something I'd have to put on the back burner right now. Too many kettles on the stove atm.
