Calculated Field vs Data Macro

Back in Access Expert 10, Lesson 4, we were taught not to use Calculated Field. If you want to calculate something, do it in the query and not in the table.

But in Access Advanced 6, Lesson 2, we have Data Macro which seems to work pretty similar with Calculated Field. We calculate and show the result in the table.

If you try both Calculated Field and Data Macro in the same table, you will get the same result (see pictures)

So, heres my question: Since Calculated Field is not recommended, does it mean that Data Macro is also not recommended or at least not be considered as a good database design?

Yeah, I'm not a fan of data macros either. I just show them so you get to know what they are in case you come across them in the wild... But don't use them in your databases.
