I personally will not ever do any sharing in a GD or OD drive.
I'll store my back ups there all day long.  It's great for that.  If you have your db live on there there is a possibility that your data could get corrupted.
I definitely would NEVER do it if there is a chance another person could be in there at the same time as you.
