I have a field in a table that is generated by concatenating 5 other fields that are entered in the same table. The result is a unique "equipment number" that can only exist once in the table. So I believe it needs to be in the table index with no duplicates to avoid double entries. I can create the equipment number with a Query but I don't know how to get it to run and load the result into the table. Can you direct me to a training video that would help?

You could use an Update Query to update the record with your Equipment Number.
Or without adding the field to the table you could make the Primary Key field part of the Equipment Number so they are all guaranteed to be unique. Then base your form off of the query. My example below shows this method.

Thanks Kevin, I need to learn more about update Queries to see if I can make this work. I will do some checking and get back to you.
