OrderF SubForm Not Working x9
Shelly Legg

X9 15:05 I was hoping there would be ONE MORE order shown as being input and "printed". Didn't happen, so I went to a new order and everything went wrong...

I have 3 orders now in OrderF. 2 seem to be working just fine. Has the product dropdown list, tabs correctly, calculates correctly, etc...

When I go to my last record and to a new one, the subform is completely blank except for the titles in the form header. No dropdown list, tabbing doesn't work (only everything OUTSIDE of the subform). I went to design view - and everything is there! Including their control source. I checked every label and everything is set to YES on Visible. All the font is black with a transparent background on white.I even tried borders around them to see if they would show up - Nope! Master/Child Fields are set to OrderID. Subform is OrderDetailF. Both OrderQ & OrderR now pop up with the Parameter Forms!OrderF!OrderID problem. I cleared the query and started fresh. Not sure if this is a problem or not, but, OrderID keeps moving to the end of the fields (even after wiping it all out and starting fresh with OrderID first from OrderT, then select ALL OrderT, unchecked the show on just OrderID, And input =Forms!OrderF!OrderID in the criteria (even tried without the equals sign).

I am stumped. I have spent over 2 hrs trying to figure it out on my own, looked to see if anyone else had asked this question, and can't find anything. Everything, I thought, was working fine when I went to bed. When I woke up, reports and forms weren't working for the OrderQ, OrderF, and OrderR. I even tried inputing the orderID field Not visible on the subforms. I am a newbie, so hopefully it's an easy fix. I'm on a Mac using most recent Access through Parallels18/Windows11/Microsoft365 user.04/06/23 Thank you!

My initial thought is shut everything down and reboot.

Access is strictly a PC product and is not maintained (to my knowledge) with the 'compatibility' products like the rest of Office is.  Heck, some days I wonder if it's being maintained for the PC but I digress.

Did you download and run the supplied db from the course?  If you do that and it works there - I'd say it is something you missed.  If the db that is supplied with the course doesn't run either my suspicion is that it is the Mac programs.  I'm sure Richard would have heard from other students if this was a common issue.

You might try the steps on the Troubleshooter

Oh my gosh! I think I just found the problem! I was taking screenshots to upload and paused when I saw some controls set to "No" - "Data Entry" & "Allow Additions". I don't remember even going over these, so I don't think I've touched them, but when I switched them to YES, I have the ability to enter info now!... Hmmm...My other 2 orders have been wiped out though...UGH! Thanks for trying to help!

Set Data Entry back to No. and you should see your other 2 orders.
