I have a header on the form that has two fields (one on top of the other. Sometimes the bottom field on the form's header is null; this leaves an awkward space with the detail element of the form. Is there a way to adjust the forms height only to a smaller size, even though there is a field in the way?

You will need to move the field first and possibly resize it too.
I placed a label in the Form Header and in my example code below I move and resize the label based on whether or no the label's Caption has a value.

    If lblHeader.Caption <> "" Then

        lblHeader.Top = 540

        lblHeader.Height = 1500

        Me.Section("FormHeader").Height = 2040

    Else

        lblHeader.Top = 0

        lblHeader.Height = 0

        Me.Section("FormHeader").Height = 1000

    End If

Obviously you will need to modify the field names and the values for your form.
