New to Access

I have a receiving log at work in which we currently use excel. Almost all orders come in on a PO. Occasionlay I will receive an order that has 20 items for a PO that need asset tagging. So I have to enter all 20 serial numbers along with the assets tag number assigned to the equipment. In excel I will go into the cell and type each serial number with a (tag number) immediately after and I separate each device with a comma. Is there a way to have a popup window come up with spaces for what I'm entering? Maybe I push a putton use a check box some type of trigger that will get the window to open so I can enter all the items. For example I receive 20 laptops against PO143560 and each laptop needs an asset tag.  One of the column in excel is labeled "Serial Number/Asset Tag Numnber". I did not make this sheet up it has been used for Years I only just recently started working as the asset manager and I am required to log over shipment that comes in using this excel sheet. I'm looking to upgrade to Access. - Thanks in advance!

Access is just the tool you need; however, you can expect a learning curve before tackling such an ambitious project. Get into Rick's Basic level course and make your way through the levels into the more advanced material. I wouldn't attempt to "go live" with a new db. Stay with the Excel system while you're learning. You will find ways to develop the Excel system and much of the data will be easy to import to Access. The two programs communicate well if you know how to do it. I started just this way. You can do it, I'm sure.
