Lookup tables

I have created a lookup table with the Country ISO Codes. This table contains the following fields (in order): CountryName, Alpha2Code, Alpha3Code, CountryID (indexed ISO Country Numeric Code).
In other table I would like a lookup field to lookup the information based on typing the country name and input the corresponding Alpha3Code field data of the corresponding row. For example: if one was to input "United States" in the lookup field, the table would input the Alpha3Code "USA".
Any one have any ideas on how to do that?

I personally do this sort of thing all the time. Often, I create a continuous Form to display the "culled" data by developing (in VBA) an appropriate filter based on a selection from a ComboBox. Another approach (have you toyed with this?) is to create a Query that selects a subset of the table's records conforming to your specs which could then be used as a RecordSource to which your database Forms may be bound.

This is very similar to putting in the USA Zip Code and having it fill in the City and State. I don't know of any reason that your data couldn't also be included. Check out the ZIP Code Lookup

Juan two ways of skinning a cat. Both get the job done. Franck - Another way I can think of is to make a combo box out of the country name. Then on choosing a specific country fill in the code. Like Richard says, "There is a million ways to do things. It just depends on how you put the Lego pieces together."
