Stuck in Set rs

Hello,

I purchased the security seminar, and are trying to incorporate it into an existing database. I copied the UserT table as well as the login form to my database. Also copied the global module and updated the path and password. I am getting an error message as shown in the images.  I appreciate your help.

Data type mismatch? Is Username set to a string?

Also does it work if you don't line break it? I've seen some weird stuff happen in sql statements depending on where you break it.

Username is short text, size 30. I used the original UserT.  It generates the same message without the line break.

Did you create the txtUsername ? You may benefit from watching the video a second time.

Thanks to both.  I am going over the entire seminar again, thats the best way to take the best advantage of the course.  One thing I notice is that the videos are several years old, I assume nothing has changed significantly.

Nope, everything in there should still be current. If anything has changed, there is usually an Addendum on the seminar page.

Have you tried using Double Double Quotes instead of single quotes?
You could also try changing from dbOpenSnapshot to dbOpenDynaset.

No, did not try that.  Just started from scratch again and its a much better learning experience.  The only thing I have noticed is that when the Login form is set to Modal the program freezes.  I dont know if the form is hidden somewhere.  That is no problem though.

Jorge,
I'm just curious. Does the sample database and files that comes with the seminar work OK for you?
It may be helpful to open your db and the sample db side by side to compare the two.

Scott, sorry for the late reply, I missed your post.  Yes the sample databases have been very useful and have worked very well for me as sources of code.

Tks, I just moved the question because I though it did not belong to this thread.
