More to tabs than shown

BE WARNED!!! I've got a pretty complicated form (does menus) with lots of VBA code, that was working fine. I added a tab control, moved some command buttons into the first page and tried to open the form. A program that had run well started blowing up with dumb runtime errors. Me.hwnd won't work in an assignment, variables that were set in open were later reset to null. I suspect some really strange stuff happens when the form gets into the tab control. Now, like Richard, I'm not a fan of tab controls. It seems MS really botched this up far worse that Richard demonstrates.

Wow - sorry to hear it botched up your db.  Hopefully you had good backups that you can go back to.
It has definitely earned it's place on the Evil Access Stuff list.

A much better alternative would be to "roll your own" as demonstrated in the Vehicle Maintenance TechHelp  and in the ABCD videos.

Hi Scott. Yep, I have tons of backups during development. I copied the working form, tested to make sure the copy would work ok. Then added the tab control as described earlier. BOOM, lots of strange VBA runtime errors and variable corruption. Deleted that copy and then went to work with the form that now uses command buttons instead. That approach is working.

I had hoped to see if a menu form presented to a user could display a different menu selection for each group that a user is a member of. Kinda like how groups work in Windows. Then the user could click between "pages" to see that menu.  I'll send an image... (no reply needed).
