I have an access DB with a standard form. We are using it to scan 5 different bar codes. However, when i go to the next record it is not defaulting to the 1st Barcode Scanning field. I have to place the cursor and click in the field to start scanning. We do 100's of scans a day and need to default the cursor on the 2,3,4,5 Records in the 1st editable field as we scan

You need to set the tab order. If you have certain times when a field is locked, you might need to check that with vba with an if/then statement in the current event to check if its locked and use field.setfocus to move to the next

Like Adam said, set the tab order and remove items that you don't want to be tab stops. Tab Stop, Order, Cycle
