Access Directory

I just completed Access Beg 1.  During Access Beg 2, Lessons 00 and 01 it was mentioned how important it is to back up your database.  I went to the Backup Your Database link.  During the video you mentioned "Don't back up your Access directory, directly."  What is an Access Directory? I believe I have the Google Drive backup set up correctly but don't want to inadvertently screw it up.   I'm not very familiar with computer terminology at this point.

Backup simply means making a copy of your Access file(s). If you have Google Drive, then copy it to a folder on that drive.

I have carbonite.  Would that work?

Yeah, Carbonite is basically like any backup program that makes an incremental backup of all of your files, and it should back up your Access database whenever your nightly event runs or whenever you have it scheduled. I just always like to recommend that you make a manual backup, too, of your database before you make any major changes to it. Also, keep in mind that programs like Carbonite sometimes will not back up open files, so if your Access database is in use at the time the backup runs, it's not going to be backed up.

Thank you.  That makes sense.
