what is "webshop"?

I would like to have the order form for our customers to order cabinets that are now in my database completed via a webshop form. Now they receive an Excel >> PDF fill-in file. I would like to link the prices to this later if possible to place the orders to us. It's a path we're thinking about for the future. Orders now would be nice. Price calculation is already done in our cabinet corpus configuration package.

Is this still up to date, I have seen videos where a website in access can be created yourself. Is this still the correct method to create a website linking to access or are there currently better ways?

Personally, I prefer SQL Server for any online database work. Access is possible but only for very small sites. As far as the front end goes, I program my own using HTML and ASP, but there are form designers and such out there you can use. I'm actually developing a tool to take your Access forms and make them work on a web browser.

Richard, that is why I became a member, the pursuit of perfection. I - we are looking forward to it with great pleasure. We still have a lot to learn and improve and optimize. We are doing well. If possible, you can add more comments in VBA in green. It's always useful to be able to read what you wrote afterwards. :)

Hi Ludwig, if it involves Access front-ends, then it is not a "website" per se.  You can use Access to access data on the Internet, but you need to make data retrievals efficient, because Internet speed is not as fast as local speed.  To have a website, everything needs to be put on the Internet, both front-end and back-end.  You need to design and code the website with HTML, ASP, VBScript, etc., not VBA.  You need to "register" for a domain name and pay annual fees.  You need a "hosting service" and pay annual fee.  And you have to think about how to secure your website.  It's a much different endeavor from doing everything in Access.
