ACCDE file fails to update
Michael Olsen

I have successfully used the method shown in the extended video and prefer it over adding multiple formal queries.  However, I am not getting the proper updates when I make my front end into an .accde file.

This is true regardless of which method I choose.  The ACCDB file works just fine, but the ACCDE file doesn't update properly.  Both files use the same backend ACCDB file.

Here is my code:
------------------------
Option Compare Database

Private Sub Form_Current()

    Combo_Room_ID.Requery

End Sub

Private Sub Combo_Building_ID_AfterUpdate()

    Combo_Room_ID.Requery
    Combo_Room_ID = 0

End Sub
-------------------

Is this just an issue with using ACCDE files, or am I missing something on updating cascading combo boxes?

I've never run into any code that's this simple that wouldn't work in an ACCDE. I suspect a deeper problem. Give it a Compact/Repair and maybe even a Decompile.

I just realized I don't have a video for Decompile yet! Guess what's getting bumped up the list. In the mean time: see this

Thanks for the tips Richard.

After reading about Decompile, it sounds like it could be a useful tool at the Developer levels, but I would think it rather advanced even for those who have started your Advance courses.  I won't be back at the office until Tuesday, so it may be a bit before I can let you know how well your recommendations worked.
