How to insert a filename such as this
"Bolda's Cafe'-Naubinway Michigan Advertisment.jpg"
into a table field with a record set, possibly using the replace function.
Those single quotes are creating a problem

You might have a problem with SQL statements but not with a recordset.

Do yourself a favor and take them out. The filename will only be used by you anyway. So, make it without the '

Yes John, that's what I am currently doing but it creates additional code to check for duplicates. That's the reason I am trying to change it.

Single quotes are allowed in file names, but not double quotes.  The picture below shows what characters are allowed.  If done right in string concatenation, single quotes shouldn't pose a problem in Access, or any platform for that matter.

It's an obstacle, but a developer has to expect that to occur and make accommodations for it, because you have to deal with not just your own file names, but likely files from other people or sources as well.  I think some kind of file name converter, parser, "handler,"etc. would be a necessary (essential) component in any project that deals with file names.
