Access Expert Level 4 3

I just got past one problem and not the next step has brought more problems with getting pictures placed in the customer extended form. I placed pics in a folder on the desktop and copied the path and file names to a notepad file. Placed the path and file name into the form then hit design view to add the image control.Formatted in the property sheet as instructed. Closed it and reopened it and no picture. This seems to be a lesson that is filled with nothing but troubles for me. I need help on this too. Thanks, Ken

Same here. I think I see the discrepancy. At the 18:00 mark of Lesson 3, Rick pastes the path and file name of his picture with no trouble. When I get to this step and paste the path and file name, I get a control source error......no such control source exists. I get the same error if I try to put the path and file name in the control source field in the properties tab. I also tried to use a text box to replicate the picture field with the same result......control source error. My guess is that we are using a more recent version of Access than Rick is using in the lesson. I believe Rick is using Access 2013 in the lesson. I am using Microsoft' Access' for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2403 Build 16.0.17425.20124) 64-bit. I suspect the method Rick is demonstrating is no longer an option in more recent versions of Access.

i posted before reading through all the threads. Rick addressed this 2 months ago......see below. Rick replied to someone: Start with an equal sign and enclose in double quotes.

Hi Bob and thanks for replying. Are you saying that in the text box marked picture, we need to put an equal sign first and then a quote sign, the link to the stored picture and then end with a quote sign? Ken

Thanks Adam and Bob. I will do that and see how that works.
