Thank you for this video. I've applied it successfully to two unbound combo boxes on a page but I want to use this technique for a combo that is bound to a field. The combo box uses this SQL to pull a list of team names from a query:

SELECT [TeamNameFromTeamQ].SCName FROM TeamNameFromTeamQ ORDER BY [SCName];

But the control source is a field in a different query.

Is that not possible or am I doing something wrong.

You could do it with the combo box using a different text box... because every time you type a character into the combo box and try to requery the combo box itself, you'll lose your value.

Great, I've got that working but the combo box will not drop down because it doesn't have the focus. Is there a way to have the combo box drop down while I'm typing in the text box?

Not easily, no. You could probably do something with a KeyDown event, but I wouldn't recommend it. If that's what you want, use a List Box below a Text Box. I'll play with it when I get a few free minutes and see what I can come up with.

Thanks, I used a text box to enter the search criteria and then click "Tab" to dropdown the box when it gets focus.
