Run Time Error 3825
Thomas Corbett

Hi, I was hoping someone else has run into this error "Select * cannot be used in an Insert into query when the source or destination table contains a multi-valued field"

I am using the Silver Cut with two tables, one works fine the other generates this error.

Thanks

Yet another reason to avoid Multivalued Fields. They're evil.

You'll have to SELECT all of the fields manually EXCEPT that MVF.

I have deleted the only field which I believe to be multi-valued and I am still getting an error :(

If you're still getting the same error, that means there are still some remnants in your database
Do a compact and repair.
If necessary, go down the list ofTroubleshooter

I deleted all fields from the table except the random auto number and the date field and the error persist

Damn. You might need to create a new table that's identical to the old one but without the MVF. Use an append query to copy the records over. Then try working with that table.

Also make sure the DESTINATION table doesn't include an MVF as well.

Also don't use the *. Manually pick the fields.

Thank you guys, this was a head scratcher! I did all the proper troubleshooting with no prevail so I started deleting the the fields one at a time. As I came deleted one of the number fields the issue went away. Weird Science!!
