will not allow input of data

I set up a form with 5 fields.  PassID,Description, class,EmailAddress,UsernameorEmailAddress,  I used a query with the fields listed.  The And query was put on the same line across the screen.  The Or search was staggered in a step pattern.

I setup a screen with the fields and the And Search Btn and a Or button.

Nathan

you need to be more precise with your description of the problem. Also include some images.

Go to the query and see if you can add a record to it. (updatable)

So the issue is that the form will not allow input of not even one character.

Any Suggestions and comments are welcome.  I am flabbergasted by the fact that I can not get to even take one character.  I followed Richards video and did it exactly as he did it.  Thank you for help.  Nathan

Is this an unbound form?

As Sami said, check your Query.

Not Updateable

I added a record .  Record 232.  It won't copy here. prior to entering data to the query.  It gave me a Enter parameter error.  with a flashing cursor wanting data to be entered.  Got this for one field.  Then it went to a data sheet with 55 records.

Sounds like something's not spelled right. Enter Parameter Value

The or search from the query will accept one record.  It does give me a parameter error.  Then a blank single record.

Yes, Richard all fields are unbound.  That was the easy part.

Please post a screenshot of your Query in Design View (make sure you crop the image and make it large enough for us to see it clearly).

I watched the parameter Value video.  I am checking spelling.

Spelling seems to be ok.  Still will not take input on even one character.  I pressed the "And Search Btn" and the (Or Search btn)
It opened a data sheet with records.  I have 233 records.  It showed 55 records.  Don't know what criteria its using for the query.
Still checking spelling.

Is your form locked? Allow edits YES? Fields locked?

Edits is set to yes. Record locks set to no locks.   I looked at other properties.  Nothing applies.

I seem to have a problem with trusted folders.  No error showed up.  Could this be a problem?

I tried a new way from Richards videos.  14 hoursAUTOSearch Form 2.0.  It worked.  I can search on multiple fields.  It works for an And search.  That video has no OR search.   Thank for the input Sami, Richards and Kevin.  Without you input.  My brain would of stayed in neutral.  You got me thinking.  Nathan (Jeff)
