Is the code inside of a button or what event is firing it? It's not just by itself outside of a sub/function correct?

I use code similar to this all the time, so the syntax that he has is correct. Do you have a field called username that is on the form that is using the code? Your table is called UserT and has the UserID and Username field?

Also, it should change back to UserName, that is the way you want it, you are referring to the value in a field on your form, so whether that's John or Tim or whatever the value is, you don't want it to literally look for the username that equals "username".

Where did you Dim ID?
