Incredible
Thomas Gonder

I watched these two videos in horror. Really. I started working with a natural language retrieval tool for dbs 44 years ago. It was some 15 years old at the time that I started using it. The compiler/runtime for that tool handled these two demonstrated "problems" (and probably others) with aplomb and quite quickly with only 64Kb of memory shared between users.

At the time, the detractors/competitors to this query language would blah, blah E.F. Codd rules and mathematical validated SQL blah, blah. And yet, here we are in 2024, and MS Access SQL can't handle these simple runtime evaluations. Incredible.

Come on Access team, you're 60 years behind the query curve at this point. Please stop just moving things around and giving them a different "style" and focus on the meat of the Access application (before you abandon it like so many other MS failures).
